I made this Instagram post on August 4, 2015 but the journey to me getting overseas actually started in that March. That was when my senior season ended at Adelphi University, a small Division II school in New York.
In my senior year I averaged 17 ppg and 8 rpg shooting 55% from 2 and 38% from 3. Arguably my best performing season of my college career. Going into the offseason, I decided that I was going to try to pursue a career overseas.
So, I asked everyone in my network for direction. My coaches, basketball alumni from my school, my friends that also wanted to play overseas. Nothing really came of it as my network was limited. No offers, just minimal interest.
That's when I realize that i need an Agent. One of my old college coaches linked me to this big time agent based out of NYC. I emailed him and he emailed me back asking for my information. I sent it to him and he never emailed me back. I was back at square one.
Graduation came and went and I still didn't have plans for playing overseas. A lot of my friends were getting signed and I was getting anxious. Then a light at the end of the tunnel. My coach came with some good news.

My coach told me that he got approached by an exposure camp and they wanted to host the camp at my University. Coach told them that they can host the camp but they had to let me join the camp's roster for free. That was my in!
From there, I got featured on the camp's website and my first agent discovered me from that website. He wanted to sign me. I played it cool because I didn't want to come off as desperate, but I was (lol).
He ended up signing me and we worked together for the next 3 seasons. I ended up playing horribly in the exposure camp, but it didn't matter because the ink was already dry.
Then by the end of July, I was already committed to play for my first club in Argentina. The rest was history. I ended up firing that agent in a pretty nasty way but that's another story for another day.
